Redefining Campus Safety and Security in South Africa

Walleed Hartley, Facilities Management Subject Matter Expert, Advanced Technology Services

Underreporting, gender-based violence, unsafe infrastructure, and weak safety policies further heighten campus vulnerability.

With students, staff, and assets increasingly at risk, universities face mounting pressure to act. In this hard-hitting plenary, Walleed will show how cutting-edge technology, real-time data, and integrated response systems are reshaping campus security. Expect eye-opening insights and practical steps you can implement immediately to protect your institution.

Navigating a lower inflation target locally and waning investor appeal in the USA

It examines the implications of the South African Reserve Bank’s lower inflation target, its impact on growth and monetary policy, and the potential benefits for investors and households. At the same time, it considers global dynamics—particularly the diminishing appeal of US assets as investor sentiment shifts—and how this may create opportunities for South Africa in attracting capital flows. The discussion balances risks and challenges with the structural and cyclical factors that could support a brighter medium-term outlook.

Transforming Workplace Culture: Mindset Paradigm Shift as the Catalyst
Nokulunga (Lukie) Mzekandaba: CEO, I Believe Me

The greatest mystery of human failure and untapped potential is not found in talent, luck, or opportunity, it lies in the simple but profound lack of thinking. The strangest secret reveals that most people drift through life, accepting the patterns and beliefs handed to them, without ever questioning, reflecting, or intentionally directing their minds. Instead of thinking creatively, they conform. Instead of imagining new possibilities, they habitually focus old thought patterns while recycling old fears . This absence of deliberate thought keeps them trapped in mediocrity, dissatisfaction, and unrealised dreams.
