Suren Govender is COO of iGuardSA, a 24×7 managed security service provider whose Bryanston security operations center safeguards organisations across the globe and delivers 40 plus cyber services, from SOC-as-a-Service to dark-web intelligence.
With over three decades in technology leadership, Suren has transformed digital resilience at multinational icons including Dell, IBM and Accenture, and as Group Chief Digital Officer at Life Healthcare, where he steered the recovery from a debilitating ransomware attack while hardening enterprise defences across a 66-hospital network.
Previously, as Group Chief Data Officer at Absa, he federated analytics capabilities that unlocked enterprise-wide insight for one of Africa’s largest banks. Suren founded Inburru Technologies to advance AI-driven cyber innovation and today lectures on cyber security at Henley Business School while serving on the founding board of the Cybersecurity Digital Alliance, championing policy, mentorship and research across the continent.
Passionate about cultivating talent, he leads with the mantra, “Be the master of your own destiny”, mentoring rising professionals and advocating continuous learning as the keystone of organisational growth.
