Meshal Moonsamy is an accomplished senior executive with more than 29 years of experience spanning finance, procurement, operations, governance and strategic leadership. She currently serves as Group Chief Operating Officer of PURCO SA NPC and PURQ (Pty) Ltd, where she leads strategic operations, organisational transformation, digital innovation and stakeholder collaboration across South Africa’s higher education sector.

During her career at PURCO SA, Meshal has played a significant role in expanding collaborative procurement, growing institutional participation and strengthening the organisation’s financial sustainability. She conceptualised and led the development of PURCO SA’s national e-Tendering system and has represented the organisation in engagements with universities, DHET, Universities South Africa and National Treasury.

Before joining PURCO SA in 2013, Meshal held finance, supply chain and operational leadership positions at the National Heritage Council, Human Sciences Research Council, Denel Dynamics and South African Paper Mills. Her experience encompasses financial management, procurement, governance, technology-enabled transformation and executive stakeholder engagement.

Meshal holds an MBA, an Honours Bachelor of Commerce, a Bachelor of Commerce and a Diploma in Project Management. Her MBA research was published internationally and presented in Mauritius in 2022.
