Ismail Hassam
Co-Founder, Qless Group

Ismail Hassam is co-founder of Qless, a business setting out to change the campus dining experience for students. Through Qless he works with UCT's Food and Connect to improve how students order and collect food on campus, an effort that has drawn strong support from the student body.
Ismail is studying for a Bachelor of Business Science in Finance at the University of Cape Town, where he serves as Class Representative for the Marketing Department, acting as liaison between more than 50 students and academic staff. He brings a mix of analytical and communication skills to the business: data analysis and modelling in Excel, SwiftUI app development for Apple platforms, and marketing design.

Before UCT he matriculated from Crawford International School, Sandton, as one of the school's top ten achievers, with nine IEB distinctions, an overall average of 89.62% and a top-1% national placement in IEB Mathematics (98%). A long-standing debater and public speaker, he wants to make a lasting difference through entrepreneurship in South Africa.

Speaking on: the campus partnership model behind Qless, the move to Wits, and how students have responded.
